Dear Friends,
The idea for a string quartet retreat in Italy was inspired by friends wanting to play music and spend time together. My partner, Filippo Protani, and I got to know the Fitzwilliam Quartet while we were living and working in Yorkshire. When we decided to move back to Filippo’s home town of Corciano, Italy the Fitzwilliam Quartet was kind enough to come down and play for the inauguration of our violin-making workshop. It was such an unforgettable week, with our time divided between playing music, enjoying coffees and ice creams in the piazza of Corciano, and going on excursions in the beautiful Italian countryside, that we decided we not only had to make sure it happened again, we should share it with others. The Corciano String Quartet Retreat is a unique opportunity for your ensemble to get away from it all and perhaps go that little bit deeper as a group, working closely together with members of the Fitzwilliam Quartet through daily coaching, talks and individual lessons.
We hope you will join us for an informal week of good music, good food and good companionship and "la vita bella"!
Yours,
Laura Vick and Filippo Protani
